Hollyhocks at the New Provo Temple

I took visiting grandchildren to the new temple this morning.
I was pleased to see an abundance of Hollyhocks in many flower beds.
I told the little girls that my grandmother's grandmother used to make skirts for flower dolls from Hollyhocks.
These well-trained children were concerned that those pioneer daughters might have gotten in trouble.  I assured them that this was why the flowers were planted.
