Starting out with Purple

Purple flowers in my basket caught my eye in the morning light, but I became preoccupied with the pink.

What catches my eye is not always appealing to my camera.

Mr. Goldfinch spied me.

He was unconcerned.

I have to be careful to never let the hummingbirds see me, and this morning, I was successful.

Fuchsia

I've been watching these blossoms, called fuchsia.  The morning sun doesn't reach them, and the afternoon sun hits them for only a few moments.  That was 10 minutes ago.

Company for Breakfast

The hummingbirds have been back for a few weeks.

These two chatted over their breakfast.

I stood outside, very still, for quite some time before the little birds decided it was safe to come in for a landing.

I don't bother taking pictures unless the sun is perfect.

And that certainly was the case today.

New Baskets

My husband picked up our baskets from the nursery.

He doesn't trust me to plant the baskets, but he trusts me to water them and pick the dead heads.

I took pictures as the sun was setting over the house.  Then I watered.  These will be beautiful all summer.

Surprise!

This afternoon I was taken by surprise when I saw these beautiful blooms in my front garden.  I didn't plant them.  They must be volunteers.  Well, they are welcome!
